Grim Weeper Reaps…

What Tea Party Sowed

With the help of the Tea Party Republicans, Speaker of the House John Boehner suffered a humiliating and embarrassing defeat today; one that calls into question his competence as Speaker.  He was forced to allow a vote on the middle class Payroll Tax Cut, which Republicans in the House, after days of  rhetoric and vitriol, begrudgingly passed.    Imagine that… having to be pressured to help 160 million Americans save an average of $40.00/paycheck.  A government “by the people, for the people”?  Let’s not forget this come election time shall we?

After signing the extension this morning, President Obama is well on his way to his Christmas in Hawaii – Aloha Mr. President.

The Face

                       … of Arizona?

Not for much longer if the voters have anything to say about it!  From illegally firing her Redistricting Chairman because she did not like the newly proposed maps, to signing into law the unconstitutional SB1070 immigration bill, Governor Jan Brewer has become the next target of a recall effort in Arizona.  Too late to save face Jan … way, way too late.

Next Step: Occupy Politics

The Occupy Wall Street movement, and all the other Occupy movements inspired by it, have had incredible  success in changing the political conversation both here in the United States and abroad.  Unfortunately, we Americans are a fickle bunch.  The movement may be losing it’s romance in the eyes of the general populous.  It is time for a change in tactics.  It is time to “Occupy Cyberspace”.

This is a call for all members and true believers in the  Occupy movement to come together in one location.  We need a definitive number  to represent the strength of the movement.  We need to form a unifying body to represent all of our voices, our desires to make the United States of America great again; to balance the playing field; to secure a promising future for our children and grandchildren:  the United Occupy Party!

Show your support!  Goto:  Change.org and sign the petition.  We can do this, one signature at time!   – United we stand, divided we crawl.

Politics = Kryptonite

Super Committee: Fails

Once again, when it comes to the classic battle between politics and morality,  politics wins.  Apparently, negotiations within the Joint Committee on Deficit Reduction have once again reached an impasse.  It seems that pesky pledge to that “random person” (per John Bohner), Grover Norquist, is once again the wet paper bag the Republicans can’t fight their way out of.  The Democrats, on the other hand, were perhaps lucky not to have come to an agreement.  This would have meant agreeing to major cuts in social programs (something the Democrats seem to think 70% of the American people want – not).

Newt’s Next

Newt Swims Upstream

Newt Gingrich has apparently benefited from the failure of others.  He has moved up in  the Republican primary polls, second behind Mitt Romney.  But let’s not forget who this man is…

He’s the guy that was having an affair on his second wife with staffer Callista Bisek, at the same time he was trying to impeach Pres. Clinton for lying about his affair.  As Speaker of the House, he was second in line for the presidency when, under a barrage of ethics charges, he had to resign.

Is this the guy you want as the leader of the free world?

Are the Chickens Coming Home to Roost?

    Stand Together or Fall Apart

  Super Tuesday Update:

Last night in Ohio, voters defeated SB5; the Government Union Law.  Apparently people don’t like to have their rights taken away from them.  So goes Ohio, so goes the country.  All we have to do is participate.  Power to the people.

In Arizona, Senator Russell Pearce, architect of the discriminatory  anti-immigration law SB1070 (affectionately known as the “papers please” law) was recalled last night.  He was defeated by Jerry Lewis (R).  HEY LADY!

Apparently still upset by the recent Supreme Court decision (1973 Roe vs. Wade), anti-abortion zealots in Mississippi introduced a ballot initiative that wanted to redefine life as “beginning at fertilization”.   If made  law, it would have made birth control and abortion illegal.  Mississippi voters weren’t having it.  They defeated the “person-hood initiative” soundly. 99% to 1%, in a democracy, those are some damn good odds.

All Eyes on Ohio

Critical count taking place in Ohio tonight.  The anti-union SB5 Government Union Law ” Issue 2″ is being decided.  With 9% of the votes counted, so far it looks like victory for the 99%. @ 63% – no / 37% – yes, things are looking good.

This vote is being looked upon as critical as it will show the other Republican states’ governors that they have overreached with their radical right wing agenda and the 99% have awoke and are fighting back.
